Leserbilder Astronomie: The stable red auroral arc (SAR) colors the sky above the Lighthouse

The phenomenon imaged in this photo is the so-called SAR (Stable Auroral Red Arc). It is a much rarer phenomenon than the Northern Lights which can occur in the presence of high solar storm values. This happened thanks to the various solar storm explosions generated in the Ar3664 sunspot on 10/11 May 2024. The SAR phenomenon had already been recorded a few months ago in the Italian Alps but had never been recorded at the very low latitudes of Sicily (lat. 37 °)
